Katie, I just love your pictures and updates. Do your receive AMERICA magazine? If not, I can send you my editions. There's an article in the November 2013 edition that speaks of the work and philosophy of John F. Kavanaugh. "...John knew how to stay rooted in our humanity in everyday life. Like Acquainas, John lays out five ways: first is daily prayer and mediation to fight the emptiness endemic to consumer culture; second is the cultivation of committed relationships in which we are known and loved; third is the delight in things that simply living makes possible; fourth is the lifelong work for justice; and fifth is the ongoing involvemenet with those at the margins, who show us the beauty in simply being persons." Not bad, right? Gemma promises to write. I'll remind her to get on it. Best wishes, Ellin
